Who We Are.....
Grand Island Utilities Department (GIUD) generates and distributes electricity and water to homes, businesses and industries in and near Grand Island Nebraska. Within the boundaries of its service area, GIUD supplies 23,839 customers with electrical service, and provides water distribution service to 15,589 customers. GIUD is owned by the customers it serves and is governed by the Grand Island City Council as a financially self-supporting function of the City of Grand Island. No taxes are used for the operation of GIUD as all department operations are financed through electric and water revenue.
This web site is provided as a service and an educational tool for current and prospective customers, as well as the Internet community. We welcome you to explore our site and learn about GIUD.
