The Grand Island Utilities Department provides electrical and water service for those that live within the city limits of Grand Island, and electrical service is provide to those who live within GIUD's service area.

Who To Contact For Service......

For electrical problems such as a power outage, flickering lights, downed power lines, or other problems related to electrical power service to your home or business, call the Phelps Control Center at 385-5461 anytime.  We are available 24 hours a day for your convenience!
For problems with water service such as a broken water main, loss of water pressure, or questions about water quality, call the Water shop at 385-5436 during the day from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. After hours and holidays contact the Phelps Control Center at 385-5461.
To locate buried electric or water lines, contact the Phelps Control Center at 385-5461 anytime.  BE SURE TO CALL BEFORE YOU DIG!
For billing questions, service connections/disconnection's, electric and water rate information or any other questions or problems call 385-5480 Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. Closed holidays.   Customer service is also available via e-mail at  customerservice@grand-island.com or click here to visit GIUD's Utility Service Division.
