| Located inside the main Burdick Station building are three boilers and three turbine-generators. Unit 1 is rated 16.5 megawatts and was placed into service
in 1957. Unit 2 is rated at 22 megawatts and was placed into service in 1963. Unit 3 is rated at 54 megawatts and was placed into service in 1972. The combined steam generating capacity of Burdick
Station is 90.5 megawatts. Shown to the left in the center of the photo is unit 1. Unit 2 is to the left of unit 1. Three boilers are located in the right side of the photo with unit 1 boiler visible. |

| Shown to the left is Burdick Steam Unit 1 turbine - generator. Unit 1 supplied all of Grand Island's electrical needs in the late 1950's with it maximum output is 16,500 kilowatt's. Today, unit #1 only produces enough power for 10% of Grand Island's peak load. Unit 1 has an operating steam pressure of 800 PSI at 900 degrees Fahrenheit. |
